For more than two decades, Mike has counseled businesses on a wide variety of legal and business issues. Having spent his first 15 years at large law firms, including 7 years as a partner of an AmLaw 50 international law firm, his broad experience includes advising clients on mergers and acquisitions that vary from selling a small landscaping company to restructuring a multi-billion dollar mortgage investment company, negotiating and documenting financing and commercial transactions in an array of industries, and litigating multi-million dollar matters in more than 30 states.
Regardless of the legal issue or the size of the business, Mike seeks to get to know each client’s business and goals. With that approach, Mike works to add value by not only providing quality legal advice, but also by providing practical counsel in the truest sense of the word. Prior to going back to school to get his law degree, Mike spent almost a decade in the restaurant industry, which included serving as the vice president of a closely held start-up bakery concept in Atlanta, Georgia. He was responsible for all aspects of operations, as well as expansion, and facilitated the company's opening of three stores in the Atlanta area in less than 14 months. Shortly after the two-year anniversary of its opening, the company was sold and eventually expanded through franchising to have more than 150 stores in 17 states. |
