Tariq’s practice centers on assisting government contractors, including both large and small business, with successfully navigating a wide variety of regulatory and statutory compliance areas. Tariq supports clients dealing with both federal and state laws and regulations, but he focuses on the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) various small business and set-aside programs including 8(a), SDVOSB/VOSB, WOSB/EDWOSB, and HUBZone. Tariq also helps clients develop SBA ASMPP Mentor Protégé Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Subcontracts, Teaming Agreements, and other strategic business agreements. Tariq supports the Government Contracts practice group at Reaves GovCon in all types of federal bid protest actions, including both GAO and Court of Federal Claims bid protests, as well as SBA size and status protests.
Prior to practicing law, Tariq gained meaningful government contracts experience through legal externship with a Fortune 500 defense contractor and federal agencies such as the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense. Through these roles, he worked on contract litigation, intellectual property issues, and compliance matters, giving him insight into how both government and industry navigate procurement and risk. This background allows him to bring an agency-informed, practical perspective to Reaves GovCon’s contractor clients. |
