Current Opportunities:

Government Contracts Attorney (Bid Protests/GovCon Compliance Counseling)

Position Overview
Reaves GovCon is currently seeking an experienced GovCon Attorney (at least 5-7 years GovCon experience preferred), admitted to practice law in Virginia or Washington DC.  The ideal candidate will have significant GAO/COFC Bid Protest experience, Size/Status Protest/OHA experience, and will be proficient at advising small and mid-sized Government Contractors on the FAR, SBA Set-Aside Program Compliance, Mentor Protégé, Joint Venturing, Teaming and Subcontracting, as well as on Contract Compliance and Administration issues.  Experience with REAs/Claims, ITAR/EAR, SBIR also a plus.  This position would involve immediate direct client contact and communication, so exceptional communication skills are a must – candidates must be able to explain complex GovCon legal concepts to clients in an understandable way.
 
Reaves GovCon is a 10-Attorney boutique GovCon firm with an active GAO/COFC Bid Protest practice (25 protests in 2025, and 11 so far in 2026).  Our firm represents hundreds of Government Contractors across the country, with a concentration in Virginia (Hampton Roads, Northern Virgina/DC Area), but also in GovCon hubs such as San Diego, Tampa, and Huntsville. 
 
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Admission to the Virginia or DC Bar.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
  • Talent, hard work, and dedication to the best interests of clients.
  • Creative thinking and leveraging available resources to deliver optimal solutions.

Compensation:
Compensation depends on experience, but includes salaried and collections based options.  Reaves GovCon compensation is highly competitive and out-paces most larger firms based on hours billed.
